The Donat Aubuchon Story

A Lasting Legacy

Fitchburg, MA – June 22, 2023 – The Lasting Legacy article series celebrates key individuals and moments in IC’s storied history.

The Aubuchon family has been involved with IC for over 75 years. Donat’s father William had been a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Fitchburg, (the original location of IC Credit Union) and had joined the Board of Directors in 1947. In 1986, William stepped down and Donat filled his father’s seat on the Board for the next 37 years until retiring from the Board in June of 2023.

During his time on the Board, Donat brought a keen sense of business trends and innovative thinking. He was passionate about advocating for the importance of planning for retirement having been Chair of the Profit Sharing/401(k) Committee since its inception, and always pushed to ensure IC was a financially stable organization for its current and future members.

Outside of IC, Donat spent the first part of his career at W.E. Aubuchon Co. where he led the financial affairs of the business as its Controller. He later opened a Data Doctors franchise with multiple locations offering computer services and repairs, and currently manages a successful real estate portfolio, which he continues to expand to this day.

Donat grew up in Fitchburg and attended Boston College, later earning his MBA from Tulane University. Donat currently resides in Shrewsbury with his wife Eileen. He is a father of three, and a grandfather of two. Donat is a passionate hockey fan, having coached youth hockey in Fitchburg and played on the Blues Brothers hockey team in Marlborough for over 20 years. Today, you can find Donat playing competitive pickleball on his home court with friends and neighbors.

Donat Aubuchon has been a loyal volunteer on IC’s Board of Directors for over 37 years. His countless hours of dedicated service, along with his passion for helping the credit union reach new heights will always be appreciated and remembered.
