FITCHBURG, MA – IC Credit Union has contributed $3,088 to the Spanish American Center, a nonprofit dedicated to serving the Hispanic and immigrant communities of North Central Massachusetts. The donation will help fund housing assistance, educational initiatives, and the Center’s food pantry, ensuring families in need can access these critical services.
For more than 50 years, the Spanish American Center has been a cornerstone in the community, offering resources such as shelter, healthcare connections, and employment support. This funding will directly enhance those programs, allowing the Center to reach more families and provide comprehensive care. The contribution also comes on the heels of Hispanic Heritage Month, which celebrates the history and culture of Hispanic and Latino communities.

“At IC Credit Union, we believe in investing in the well-being of our neighbors,” said Christopher P. Hendry, President and CEO of IC Credit Union. “The Spanish American Center is a lifeline for so many, and their work makes a lasting difference. We’re proud to support their mission and help expand their impact.”
The gift includes $3,088 raised by IC employees through the Jeans for Charity program, where team members donate a portion of their paycheck to local causes. IC Credit Union matched those contributions to amplify their effect.
Neddy Latimer, Executive Director of the Spanish American Center, expressed her appreciation: “IC Credit Union’s generosity will help us continue to meet the growing needs of our community. Whether it’s food, housing assistance, or educational support, this donation ensures we can deliver the essential services families count on. We are deeply grateful for their partnership.”
