January 11, 2012, Leominster, MA - IC Credit Union President Tony Cali recently presented a check in the amount of $5,000 to HealthAlliance Hospital President & CEO, Patrick Muldoon, and Veronica Rosa, VP of Development & Public Relations, in support of the hospital's "Exceptional Care…Close" campaign. Funds raised through the campaign will fund expansion efforts at the Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center, located on the Burbank Campus in Fitchburg.
"IC is pleased to play a small part in supporting HealthAlliance to provide a state-of-the-art cancer treatment center which will offer our community in need of this service a local option that we can all be proud of" stated Mr. Cali.
The Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center is the only comprehensive cancer center in North Central MA accredited by the Commission on Cancer for quality cancer care. The expansion will increase the size of the Center by nearly 30% making it possible to provide more than 3,500 additional cancer treatments annually. A new linear accelerator will provide leading edge technology in radiation oncology. Additionally, expanded patient-centered services will include patient navigator and survivorship programs to guide patients and families through the journey of cancer care and to provide personalized long-term care plans for survivors.
